area of high pressure, plus low pressure system over southern california. those combined to make for some dry windy and very dangerous weather as fire weather warnings and red flag warnings, fire weather watches from minnesota all the way into the pacific northwest. above normal temperatures, though, for the month of october, below normal into the gulf coast and the southeast. as far as precipitation is concerned it looks like a wet october along the eastern seaboard, staying dry out west. not good news for the wild fire danger out t >>> good tuesday morning to you. well, we have a nice, clear start. sun came up just over a half hour ago and we are clear off of that, indication of a very warm day ahead. you're just as clear in san jose as you are in san francisco. no low cloud, no natural coolant and temperatures will soar yet again to level that say we hit yesterday. by tomorrow we'll shave our ten degrees. 102 in livermore, 93 in san jose and get ready by the bay, 91 in oakland and 83 degrees in san francisco. heat breaks as we head through thursday. >> got some friends here from w

the southwest that will impact southern california, rainshowers, thunderstorms, maybe even a little high elevation snow for the sierra. the first snow we've had so far this season. yet another cold front will push some cool air back into the middle of the country. the northern sections of the middle of the country. 51 in minneapolis by thursday, 65 in chicago. and then we cool things off again here friday around the great lakes. we'll be back to 50s in chicago. and then staying cool and unsettled in the northeast. the stationery front will set up across the southern states and we'll have showers and storms to keep an eye on. saturday with the system that comes out of the west we'll have a big severe weather threat here in fact isolated tornadoes possible, strong winds and large hail. so big day to watch the weather saturday from the upper midwest all the way down to the southern plains. meanwhile drying out in the east we've got some soggy weather moving into seattle. it's been awhile since we've had that. and that will stick around for your sunday and monday. and we'll see those sh

the west, especially the inland valleys of california well into the 80s. another system moving in the pacific northwest, the low that's bringing in the unsettled weather to the great lakes is still going to be impacting parts of the ohio valley, parts of the northern mississippi valley, that front swings out of the southeast. the same system that's going to bring that threat to severe weather the next 36 hours or so. then for friday cooler air still in place throughout the great lakes. the warm temperatures will be throughout parts of the southwest. los angeles moderating back down into the lower 70s now. 60s for boston and new york city. for the weekend on saturday, high pressure taking over for much of the southeast. still some showers throughout parts of the eastern lakes and parts of the northeast, northwest also going to see some shower activity. then on sunday another cold front moving through the plains. we're going to see things really start to dry out in the northeast as well. things should be much quieter throughout much of the south from the southwest to the southeast a

. here's our storm on the move. remember this started out in southern california earlier in the week. now it's going to bring rain across the ohio valley back into louisiana and texas. so a far-reaching storm, widespread weather impacts, not a severe sunday but we can't rule out some isolated severe storms. remember it just takes one in your neighborhood. 70 degrees in new york city on sunday. not too bad of a day. it's going to be warmer than saturday. 72 in louisville, warming up to 70 in denver. rockies clearing out nicely for much of the weekend. early next week we still have showers across the east. 71 in boston. look at rain moving in by the evening. unsettled weather still in the pacific northwest a series of storms moving in for western washington, oregon, into idaho and montana. but drying out through the middle of the country. and that storm will race to the east by wednesday. so the middle of the country across the high plains and the upper midwest looking at some rain there. 72 in louisville. and we'll be in the chilly 50s here across new york city by the middle of the week. r
